A Shire Plc drug will get a priority review for treating adults with binge eating disorder.

The Irish drugmaker said Monday that Vyvanse will be considered as a treatment for binge eating disorder by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The drug is already approved in the U.S. for treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Shire, which is being acquired by North Chicago-based AbbVie, said it expects a decision from the FDA by February.
