After FKA Twigs was bombarded by a number of ugly racist online comments — after news reports broke concerning her new relationship with Robert Pattinson — the British singer took to Twitter over the weekend to fight back.
Noting a number of the messages she received were truly vile, Twigs wrote, “I am genuinely shocked and disgusted at the amount of racism that has been infecting my account the past week. Racism is unacceptable in the real world and it’s unacceptable online.”
Born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, the English musician, who is of mixed race, began her career as a backup dancer and then moved on into a singing career. Her debut album, “LP1,” came out in August, about the time she and the “Twilight” star began dating.
