Two ATMs on the South Side were broken into last month, prompting police to send a community alert.

The suspects used pry tools to open the ATMs, and successfully accessed the money in one case, according to the alert.

The first burglary happened between 3:20 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. Oct. 13 in the 8400 block of South Stony Island Avenue in Avalon Park. The second occurred about 5:15 a.m. Oct. 26 in the 8600 block of South Lafayette Avenue in Chatham.

Anyone with information about these burglaries should call Area South detectives at (312) 747-8273.
