Kathy Griffin could be headed to ‘The View’

It looks like Kathy Griffin might be making a move to New York — if the buzz about her joining “The View” turns out to be true.

A good source on the talk show’s production team told me Monday that the Oak Park native’s guest appearance last week made “a huge, huge impression” on the key decisionmakers at the long-running daily chatfest.

“Not only were all the producers happy, but Whoopi [Goldberg] is really in Kathy’s corner,” added the source. “Kathy has a mouth on her, that’s for sure, but they think she just might bring the right energy to the show that’s currently missing.”

Griffin, of course, has recently made headlines for her unexpected exit — after only seven episodes — from E! News’ “Fashion Police,” following the controversy caused by Giuliana Rancic’s ill-advised dissing of Zendaya’s appearance at the Oscars, which led Kelly Osbourne to leave the show.

Griffin has said that she left because as a “feminist” she doesn’t want to be anywhere other women are demeaned for their appearance.

At that time, Goldberg took to Twitter to post, “Bravo @kathygriffin. You have to try it to know if you like it. You did and it wasn’t fun for you. And now, a new change is going to come.”
