SHARE 70-year-old man dies after Edens crash on North Side

A 70-year-old north suburban involved in a crash early Monday on the Edens Expressway died of a heart attack.

Isaac Winfield was involved in a crash in the northbound lanes of I-94 at Peterson Avenue, according to Illinois State Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Winfield, of the 800 block of Judson Avenue in Evanston, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:01 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found he died of a heart attack and heart disease, and his death was ruled an accident.

An Illinois State Police spokesman could not immediately provide additional details
