A 24-year-old man was shot to death in the Avalon Park neighborhood on the South Side early Friday.

Uchenna Agina was sitting in a car about 1:50 a.m. in the 8400 block of South Stony Island when someone walked up and opened fire, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Agina, of the 7900 block of South Karlov, was driven by a friend to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m., authorities said.
