Man shot in South Shore

A man was shot Friday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 42-year-old was sitting in a vehicle about 4:15 p.m. in the 7300 block of South Phillips when someone approached and fired shots before running away, police said.

The man was shot in the right leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.
