Rain and thunderstorms moving through the Chicago area are expected to affect Monday’s morning commute.

Showers and a thunderstorm with lightning and heavy downpours are all possible before 10 a.m., especially south of I-88 and I-290, according to the National Weather Service.

By the afternoon, skies should clear and temperatures will reach into the upper 60s and possibly even 70 degrees, according to the weather service. Tuesday will be sunny with a high of 56.

The rest of the week is expected to remain warm, with high temperatures staying in the 60s. Thunderstorms will be possible again Wednesday night and Thursday.
