Police are searching for a man with Alzheimer’s who went missing after he traveled from Elmhurst to Oakbrook Terrace Tuesday afternoon.

David Ruppert, 85, was last seen about 12:30 p.m. after he left Magic Scissors hair salon at 1S043 Summit Road in Oak Brook Terrace, according to a statement from Elmhurst police.

Ruppert, who was driving his silver 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, did not return to his Elmhurst home, police said.

Ruppert is described as a white man, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 183 pounds, police said. He was gray hair and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a maroon jacket, a sweat shirt and a baseball cap.

His vehicle’s license plate number is 502999, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Elmhurst police at (630) 530-3050.
