A man was struck and killed by a Metra train Tuesday evening in west suburban Wheaton.

About 6:30 p.m., UP/West train No. 55 fatally struck a person between the Wheaton and Winfield stations, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.

Charles Vosburgh, 37, of Wheaton was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the DuPage County coroner’s office.

The results of an examination and toxicology tests are pending further investigation, according to the coroner’s office.

Trains were stopped for about 90 minutes, but began moving again about 8 p.m. with some delays, Miller said.
