And now for something completely different for Fish of the Week.

Butch Kribbs of Hoffman Estates caught something really different, a 55-pound paddlefish on April 25 at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was fishing with his brothers on the Osage River around mile marker 69.

Paddlefish, also known as spoonbills, have strict seasons in Missouri. This is the first paddlefish in FOTW.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories around Chicago fishing, appears Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page.
