Famed soprano Renee Fleming will spend another two years working with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

The opera says Fleming will continue to serve as its creative consultant while she keeps up her performance schedule. Fleming’s original five-year contract with the opera started in 2010. Her work currently includes curating the 2015 premiere of the new opera “Bel Canto.”

Meanwhile, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office says Fleming will perform at his second inauguration next week.

The mayor’s office says Fleming will be joined at the Monday ceremony by lyricist and poet Harold Green of the city’s Englewood neighborhood.

President Barack Obama recently awarded Fleming the National Medal of Arts.
