A registered sex offender living in west suburban Boulder Hill has been charged with failing to report his address as required by law.

Clyde K. Donley, 59, is charged with violating the Sex Offender Registration Act after an investigation revealed he failed to report being gone from his home for more than three days, according to a statement from the Kendall County sheriff’s office. The charge is a Class 3 felony.

Donley was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a 13-year-old victim when he was 46, according to the Illinois sex offender registry.

Authorities began investigating the registry violation on March 23, and the charges against him were approved on May 7, the sheriff’s office said. He was taken into custody on May 12 at the sheriff’s office and was freed after posting 10 percent of his $25,000 bond later that day.
