Along with Chris Colfer’s success as an actor — best known for starring as Kurt Hummel on the long-running Fox musical drama series “Glee” — the Golden Globe-winner also has carved out a second career as an author of books geared to young readers.

Colfer will be in the area next month for a 7 p.m. Friday, July 10 book signing event at Anderson’s Bookshop, 124 W. Jefferson in Naperville. It’s all for his fourth literary venture, “The Land of Stories 4: Beyond the Kingdoms,” continuing Colfer’s “Land of Stories” series of adventure tales for kids.

For more information about the event, including how to get priority numbers for the book signing line, which will be available with the purchase of a book, go to andersonsbookshop.com or call (630) 963-2665.
