SHARE Police: Man put 7-Eleven clerk in headlock during Elgin robbery

A man has been charged with robbing a 7-Eleven store in late May after putting the clerk in a headlock in northwest suburban Elgin.

Hilmon R. Carr, 23, was charged with one felony count of robbery, according to a statement from Elgin police.

Carr entered the 7-Eleven in the 800 block of East Chicago Street about 4 a.m. on May 31 with his face partially covered, police said. He placed the clerk in a headlock, police said, stole items from the store and ran away.

Carr, of the 800 block of Bode Road in Elgin, was ordered held on a $75,000 bond in Tuesday.
