Teen shot in the head in Brighton Park

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the head Saturday evening in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

He was in the 4500 block of South Francisco about 5:30 p.m. when a gunman on a bicycle rode up and opened fire, police said.

The teen was taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head. Police said the shooting may have been gang-related.
