Five-star Alabama guard Josh Langford verbally committed to Michigan State on Monday.

Langford is the 13th ranked player in the 2016 class and the first top recruit for Tom Izzo and the Spartans.

The 6-foot-6 combo guard from Madison Academy averaged 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists during his junior year.

According to ESPN, Langford is a very good ball handler and passer.

Langford is a big and strong wing that is a terrific play maker. He attacks the rim through contact on the break and in the half court set. Langford simply overpowers high school wing players. When Langford gets his shoulder by a defender on a drive he usually scorers or gets fouled. Langford can also hit the mid range jumper and three with time in addition to being a good ball handler and passer. He is a very good perimeter rebounder that can very easily lead the break. Langford has the IQ and ability to defend all three perimeter as well.

Langford also received offers from Alabama, Florida, Gonzaga, Louisville and Kansas.
