Man shot in West Englewood

A man was shot while sitting on a porch in the West Englewood neighborhood early Friday.

At 1:03 a.m., the 23-year-old was sitting on a porch in the 5700 block of South Wolcott when a male walked up and opened fire, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized, police said.
