A man was shot early Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
The man — whose exact age was not known — was shot in the chest about 3:15 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Washington, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.
He later walked into Loretto Hospital, but additional details were not immediately available, Greer said.
“I grew up with the Super Bowl Shuffle,” the mayor told reporters earlier Wednesday, before a video chat with Bears president Kevin Warren. “We want to make sure that we can keep shufflin’ here in the city of Chicago with the Bears.”
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday.
