A man was critically wounded in a shooting Monday morning in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 7900 block of South Carpenter about 10:30 a.m., police said.

The 27-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
