A 12-year-old boy was inappropriately touched several times by a stranger while riding a CTA bus last week on the South Side.

The boy was riding a crowded No. 4 Cottage Grove bus southbound on his way to school about 8:40 a.m. Jan. 7 when he was approached four times by a man and asked to move so that other passengers could get off the bus, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

When the child complied, the man touched him inappropriately, police said. The man then got off the bus in the 8700 block of South Cottage Grove.

The suspect was described as a black man between 25 and 30, about 5-foot-7 with a black beard and light complexion, police said. He was wearing a black cap, blue jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information should call the Special Investigations Unit at (312) 492-3810.
