A 39-year-old west suburban man was found fatally shot in Maywood Tuesday morning.

Fredrick Blackwell was pronounced dead at the scene in the 100 block of South 14th Avenue in Maywood at 10:47 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Blackwell was shot in the torso and his death was ruled a homicide, an autopsy determined on Wednesday.

He lived in the 2000 block of South 24th Avenue in Broadview, authorities said.

A public information officer for Maywood police did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
