An Evanston police officer was injured when she was hit by a truck around 9:45 a.m. Saturday while on foot at Dodge Avenue and Emerson Street to post stop signs because of a power outage.

She had just dropped the stop sign at the southwest corner and was in the crosswalk when she was hit by a dump truck, according to police in the north suburb, who said she was taken to Evanston Hospital with multiple injuries.

The police wouldn’t say whether he truck driver was being cited.
