A man was found shot to death early Thursday in the Goose Island neighborhood on the Near North Side, police said.

Officers responding to reports of a person shot at 12:18 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Willard Court found the 35-year-old man in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Chicago Police.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.

About five hours earlier, another man was killed in a separate shooting about a block away.

The fatal shooting occurred in McKinley Park on the Southwest Side.
The man, 39, was standing on a sidewalk in the 2000 block of West 36th Street about 10:30 p.m. when someone approached on a bike and opened fire, striking him in the chest, police said.
