A 51-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting early Tuesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

Donald Dockery was standing outside at 2:37 a.m. in the 600 block of North Ridgeway when a vehicle drove by and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Dockery was shot in the back and pronounced dead at the scene 2:58 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 4700 block of West Maypole.
