A man was shot Wednesday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The 26-year-old was sitting in front of a residence in the 4700 block of West Van Buren about 2:30 p.m. when someone walked up and shot him in the ear, according to Chicago Police.

He took himself to Loretto Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
