A woman arrested Thursday at a spa in west suburban Batavia is accused of performing sexual acts for additional money, making it the second prostitution arrest within the past 7 months at the massage parlor.

Investigators conducted a massage parlor compliance check Thursday at Gem Spa, 330 E. Wilson St., Batavia police said.

At 5:31 p.m., an undercover investigator entered Gem Spa, police said. While giving the investigator a massage, 35-year-old Jue Xiang offered to perform a sexual act for additional money.

The investigator immediately stopped the massage and notified other investigators, police said.

Xiang was charged with one count of prostitution and one count of practicing massage therapy without a state license, police said.

She was released after she posted $150 bond, police said. Xiang is scheduled to appear in Kane County court Dec. 20.

In May investigators from Batavia police department conducted a similar compliance check resulting in an arrest, police said. The May case is still pending disposition in Kane County court.
