A man was charged with shooting and critically wounding another man on Thanksgiving Day in the Andersonville neighborhood on the North Side.

Georgie Harris, 54, faces one misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm without an FOID card, according to Chicago Police.

Officers responded to a domestic-related incident at 3:27 a.m. Nov. 24 in the 5300 block of North Paulina, police said.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and was taken in critical condition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

Harris, who lived at the same address where the shooting happened, was at the scene when officers arrived, and admitted shooting the victim, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.
