A person was seriously hurt in a Lake Shore Drive rollover crash early Friday in the Gold Coast.

The single-vehicle crash happened about 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Oak Street, according to Chicago Police.

An adult was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious “but stable” condition, Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder said.

Northbound lanes were shut down at Chicago Avenue until 5:20 a.m. as crews cleared the scene, police said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
