The snowfall that started overnight throughout the Chicago area will continue through Thursday’s morning commute.

Light snowfall is expected to continue through the morning, tapering off in the late morning or early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow could cause slippery roads and reduced visibility during Thursday’s morning commute, the weather service said. Accumulation is expected to range between 1 to 2 inches.

The Illinois Tollway deployed its full fleet of 185 snowplows early Thursday in anticipation of the morning commute, the tollway said in a statement.
