A 17-year-old boy was shot early Tuesday in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The teenager suffered gunshot wounds to the left calf and right thigh about 3 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Schubert Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

He later showed up at Community First Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Police said the teen is a documented gang member and is being uncooperative with investigators.
