A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition after being shot as she rode in a car around 3:20 a.m. Saturday in the 4300 block of West Kinzie Street, according to the police, who said someone in the car behind them shot her in the back of the head.

The driver took her to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was in critical condition, the police said.
