Prince plays at the “Saturday Night Live” after-party.

Up till now strictly the stuff of legend, an epic Prince performance at a “Saturday Night Live” after-party last year went public over the weekend, thanks to a Chicagoan with a hardy set of toes.

Former Second City and “Saturday Night Live” star Tim Kazurinsky posted video of the gig Friday on YouTube. Footage aired on NBC the next night as part of an “SNL” tribute to Prince.

The diminutive comedian tweeted that he needed some elevation to capture the performance at New York’s Plaza Hotel in February 2015.

Jimmy Fallon recounted on the “SNL” special that he coaxed Prince to the stage during the party celebrating the show’s 40th anniversary special. In the clip, Fallon and Chris Rock are seen singing backup to “Let’s Go Crazy,” and Martin Short, Maya Rudolph, Emma Stone, Jim Carrey, Bill Murray and members of Haim are seen joining in or looking on.
