Switching problems were causing delays Friday morning across multiple Metra lines.
The problems at Union Station were causing delays ranging from 20 to 45 minutes in both directions on the BNSF Railway, according to Metra service alerts.
And switching problems at Western Avenue were delaying trains by 20 to 35 minutes on the Union Pacific/West Line.
The Milwaukee District/North Line was running about nine minutes behind schedule, and the Milwaukee District/West Line was operating 15 to 20 minutes behind schedule, according to Metra.
