Service on the CTA’s Pink Line resumed Sunday morning after part of the line was suspended Monday on the Southwest Side because of signal problems.
Normal service began from from 54th/Cermak towards the Loop at 5:05 a.m., according to a statement from the CTA. The first train departed from the Loop to 54th/Cermak at 5:30 a.m.
Monday night, a small fire damaged signals and track switches at a relay house, which told Pink Line trains when they can merge onto Green Line tracks at an intersection, according to the CTA. The issue caused reroutes between the 54th/Cermak and Polk stations.
