A 22-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

He was walking about 4:10 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Lexington when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
