A man in woman, both in their 50s, were shot in the South Deering neighborhood early Saturday.

The man was on a porch in the 9900 block of South Paxton when two males walked up and opened fire, police said. He suffered a graze wound to his right forearm and refused medical attention at the scene.

A 53-year-old woman was shot in her lower back as she was inside a bedroom in the home, police said. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition stabilized.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
