Two of Spencer Dinwiddie’s best games as a rookie came at the expense of the Bulls.
It obviously left a lasting impression.
The team announced on Friday that they had acquired the second-year Pistons guard, sending Cameron Bairstow to Detroit.
In landing the 6-foot-6 Dinwiddie, the Bulls get a versatile guard, who shined against them in the 2014-15 campaign, putting up 12 points in a Feb. 20 win over the Bulls, and then following that up with a 10-point showing against them on Mar. 21 of that season.
A product of the University of Colorado, the 23-year-old was selected in the second round (38th overall) by the Pistons in the 2014 NBA Draft.
For now, he will join a backcourt of Jimmy Butler, Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and E’Twaun Moore if the Bulls can re-sign the free agent-to-be.
As for Bairstow, he never really developed into the physical presence he showed early on in Summer League play, and saw action in just 36 games over the last two years, averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebounds.
