Michael Jordan to Klay Thompson: Go ahead and break Bulls’ record

The Warriors have made it clear they’re gunning for the 1996 Bulls’ single-season wins record, and apparently Michael Jordan has no problem with the record being broken.

Thompson met Jordan at All-Star weekend in Toronto, and the Bulls legend gave his blessing.

At 48-4, the Warriors are on pace for 76 wins – four more than the 72 games won by the Bulls during the 1995-1996 season.

FiveThirtyEight’s NBA projections have the Warriors finishing with 73 wins, though they’ll play six consecutive road games following the All-Star break.

Thompson beat teammate Steph Curry in the NBA three-point contest Saturday, and the pair will compete for the West in the All-Star game Sunday. Pau Gasol will be Chicago’s only representative after Jimmy Butler dropped out following a knee injury.
