Living up to an older brother and father who have both won an NBA Championship isn’t easy, but Trayce Thompson is well on his way to doing just that.
The White Sox young outfielder hit his first career home run Tuesday night against the Angels.
As soon as he hit it, Thompson’s superstar brother Klay showed his support. The Warriors guard is currently in Las Vegas with the USA Men’s Basketball team.

Robin Ventura isn’t ready to make Trayce Thompson an everyday player yetThe home run is a continuation of Thompson’s early career success. Thompson now has a pair of extra base hits and is hitting .444 in just four games.
Obviously, one week of good baseball isn’t enough to make Thompson an all-star. But, so far, he is doing his part to live up to the Thompson name.
Thompson said he hadn’t heard from his family, but that was immediately after the game and he hadn’t checked his phone.
“Yeah, if it wasn’t for them, me growing up I wouldn’t be here that’s for sure,” Thompson said after the game. “Two of the best sports moments of my life was watching Klay make his debut and my oldest brother making the Cavaliers. Two of the top, most happy, thrilling, nervous, anxiety [filled moments], it was amazing to see their accomplishments. Their support means the world to me. They’re my two best friends in the world and they always will be so it’s awesome that they back me up.”
