Happy Birthday Alexei Ramirez: top plays in Chicago

SHARE Happy Birthday Alexei Ramirez: top plays in Chicago

Chicago White Sox short stop Alexei Ramirez celebrated his 34th birthday Tuesday.

We celebrate the Cuban’s career by highlighting some of his best performances — on and off the field.

Ramirez first broke unto the MLB scene in 2008, which still stands as his best season. That year, he hit 15 homers, 77 RBIs and 65 runs scored.

He also is known as a bit of a jokester in the clubhouse and has a good sense of humor. Do you remember the time he tried to prank Cubs fans with a “flying dollar”?

Even though he’s as wiry as a 6-foot-2, 180 pound hitter can be, Ramirez finds strength through his legs and length to power balls over the fence. Those legs also proved useful in 2013, when he stole a career-high 30 bases.
