Two people were seriously injured after their motorcycle crashed into a car on northbound I-294 at milepost 10.75 Saturday afternoon.

At 3:18 p.m., the driver of the motorcycle hit a Black Escalade. The motorcycle flipped, and the car fled from the scene, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

The two people riding the motorcycle were taken to Christ Hospital in serious condition, according to the statement.

The right two lanes of northbound I-294 near milepost 10.75 were closed as authorities investigated the accident, but the lanes reopened at about 5:30 p.m., according to the statement.
