One person was injured when a car crashed into a house Friday morning in west suburban Elmhurst.

The 40-year-old woman driving the car told police she lost consciousness, causing her to leave the road and drive into the house at 11:16 a.m. in the 400 block of Church Street, according to a statement from Elmhurst Police.

The car appeared to cause significant damage to the front of the house, knocking out part of a wall.

The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, and no one in the house was injured, police said.
