Mother’s Day Morels: Morel of the Week

SHARE Mother’s Day Morels: Morel of the Week

I am not sure if I will keep running MOTW or not, the season rushed through with the big yellows exploding around Chicago the last 10 days or so.

But I loved this tale and wanted to run it because it touched my heart.

Alan, Robert and Kevin Burr sent this photo and a note saying, “Gladys Burr had a wonderful Mother’s Day finding these morels in Putnam County,’’

That’s a mother and a properly wild Mother’s Day.

Morel of the Week, a celebration of finding morels around Chicago outdoors, runs on the Sun-Times outdoors page on Sundays when apt, generally through May.

To submit MOTW, find me on Twitter (@BowmanOutside), Facebook (Dale Bowman) or email (straycasts@sbcglobal.net).
