A 25-year-old man was fatally shot Friday afternoon in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

Jeremy Clark was playing dice about 4:30 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 5000 block of South Elizabeth when another male walked up, pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The shooter then ran away.

Clark, of the 5700 block of South Loomis, was shot in the neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:11 p.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.
