Three people wearing black ski masks robbed a Shell gas station early Friday morning in northwest suburban Woodstock.

Around 3:30 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call at the Shell gas station at 315 N. Madison St. in Woodstock, according to a statement from the Woodstock police department.

Two of the three males entered the gas station wearing black ski masks and walked to the back of the gas station, police said. They then approached the cashier with the third unmasked suspect.

The suspects then displayed a rifle and demanded money, police said. After stealing an undisclosed amount of money they ran away, heading westbound down an alley leading toward the Woodstock Metra Station.

A K-9 search was conducted but the suspects were not found, police said.

The suspects are described as three black males, in their late teens or early twenties, all average height and build and wearing black shirts, police said.

Anyone with information about this armed robbery is asked to contact the Woodstock police department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 815-338-2131.
