An 18-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the buttocks early Wednesday in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 2:40 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Dearborn, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

The man was taken in good condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

Additional details on the self-inflicted shooting were not immediately available.
