A 16-year-old boy was shot Friday in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood.

The boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 7700 block of South Trumbull at 6:40 p.m. when someone in a vehicle shot him in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
