A 20-year-old man has been charged with stealing a woman’s purse Thursday morning in the Loop.

The victim was in the 100 block of East Randolph at 11:18 a.m. when she was knocked to the ground by two male suspects who stole her purse, according to Chicago Police.

The suspects ran away, but were chased by an off-duty police officer and security guards, police said.

They managed to take 20-year-old Antonio Calahan into custody, but the other suspect got away, police said.

Calahan, of the 5600 block of South Peoria, was charged with one felony count of robbery and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest and obstructing an officer, police said.

He was ordered held on a $100,000 bond Friday and is next scheduled to appear in court July 21, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
