Two shot in Humboldt Park

Two people were shot early Sunday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 23-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were both wounded in the shooting about 5:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of West Chicago, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the shoulder and back and the woman suffered a a gunshot wound the left arm, police said. They later showed up at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, where they were both listed in serious condition.

A police source said the man is a documented gang member.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
